Mitä tietoja kerätään ja miksi

Tili

Kirjautumiseen tarvitaan sähköpostiosoite tai Apple-tunnus. Jos käytät Apple- kirjautumista ja valitset sähköpostin piilottamisen, Kohta saa vain Applen välitysosoitteen. Lisäksi valitset käyttäjänimen, joka näkyy kuviesi yhteydessä, ja voit halutessasi lisätä profiilikuvan.

Sovelluksen käyttö

Kohta tallentaa omaan tietokantaansa rajattuja ensimmäisen osapuolen tuotteen käyttötapahtumia, kuten sovelluksen avaamisen, kävelyn aloittamisen, kuvan julkaisemisen ja tehtävän valmistumisen. Tapahtumaan liittyvät käyttäjätilisi ja ajankohta, mutta siihen ei voi tallentaa sijaintia, kuvatekstiä tai muuta vapaata sisältöä. Tietoja käytetään tuotteen toimivuuden ja käytön ymmärtämiseen. Kolmannen osapuolen käyttäytymisanalytiikkaa tai mainostunnisteita ei käytetä.

Kuvat ja kuvatekstit

Kohtaan kuvataan sovelluksen kameralla, tai julkiseen Kohtaan voi lisätä kuvan kuvakirjastosta. Silloin kuvan omaa sijaintitietoa käytetään kiinnittämään se paikkaan, jossa se on otettu. Julkaisemasi kuva ja mahdollinen kuvateksti tallennetaan, jotta ne voidaan näyttää sinulle ja niille, joilla on oikeus nähdä ne: julkinen kuva kartalla kaikille, yksityisen Kutsun kuva vain sen jäsenille. Kutsuun kuvataan aina kameralla.

Sijainti

Sovellus pyytää tarkkaa sijaintia silloin kun se on auki. Sijaintia käytetään kahteen asiaan: näyttämään mitä Kohtia on lähelläsi, ja kiinnittämään ottamasi kuva siihen paikkaan, jossa seisot. Kuvan tarkat koordinaatit tallennetaan, mutta niitä ei näytetä koskaan toisille käyttäjille. Muut näkevät vain sen Kohdan, johon kuva kuuluu. Sijaintia ei seurata taustalla.

Kuvaustiedot

Kuvasta talletetaan laitemalli, käytetty linssi, kameran suunta ja rajattu joukko teknisiä EXIF-kenttiä. Kuvatiedostoista poistetaan sijainti-EXIF ennen julkaisua. Alkuperäinen kameran tuottama tiedosto säilytetään 30 vuorokautta väärinkäytösten selvittämistä varten, minkä jälkeen se poistetaan; jäljelle jää vain tiedoston tiiviste (SHA-256), josta ei voi palauttaa kuvaa.

Liike ja askeleet

Jos kävelyyn liittyvät ominaisuudet ovat käytössä, sovellus lukee askelmäärän vain ollessaan auki. Tietoa ei kerätä taustalla.

Apple Watch

Kohtaan kuuluu Apple Watch -sovellus, joka näyttää lähimmän vihjeen suunnan ja etäisyyden. Kello lukee omaa sijaintiaan, kompassisuuntaansa ja askelmääräänsä vain silloin kun sen sovellus on auki. Kello ei ota yhteyttä verkkoon lainkaan: se saa vihjeen puhelimelta laitteiden välisenä viestinä, ja kaikki sen lukema tieto jää kellolle. Mitään ei tallenneta Kohdan palvelimille kellolta.

Virheraportit

Jos sovellus kaatuu, siitä lähetetään tekninen virheraportti (Sentry, Functional Software, Inc.). Raportti sisältää tietoa virheestä, laitemallista ja käyttöjärjestelmästä. Se ei sisällä kuviasi eikä sijaintiasi.

Verkkosivu ei pyydä sinulta tietoja (kohta.space)

Tällä verkkosivulla ei ole yhtään lomaketta eikä kenttää: ei odotuslistaa, ei yhteydenottopyyntöä, ei sähköpostikenttää. Sivulla näkyvät valokuvat ovat tekijän omia. Muiden käyttäjien kuvia ei julkaista verkkosivulla, koska käyttöehdot antavat Kohdalle oikeuden näyttää kuvasi sovelluksessa, eivät sen ulkopuolella. Sivuston evästeetön kävijämittaus kuvataan seuraavassa kohdassa.

Kävijämittaus (kohta.space)

Tämän verkkosivun kävijämäärää mitataan Cloudflaren Web Analyticsilla. Se ei aseta evästeitä eikä tunnista sinua. Mittaus kertoo kuinka monta kertaa sivu on avattu, miltä sivulta tultiin ja millaisella laitteella, eikä yksittäistä kävijää voi siitä jäljittää. Tietoja ei yhdistetä sovelluksen tietoihin. Cloudflaren mittaus koskee vain verkkosivua; sovelluksen rajatut ensimmäisen osapuolen käyttötapahtumat kuvataan yllä.

Palvelut, joita Kohta käyttää

Kuvien julkaisuun kuuluu automaattinen seulontavaihe, jonka tarkoitus on estää selvästi asiaton sisältö. Seulonnan tekee Amazon Rekognition Irlannin alueella, eli kuva ei poistu EU:sta. Se välitetään sinne vain tätä tarkistusta varten: sitä ei säilytetä eikä käytetä mihinkään muuhun. Tämä ei ole pelkkä alueen valinta. AWS:n ehdot sallivat oletuksena tekoälypalveluille annetun aineiston käytön palveluiden kehittämiseen ja sen säilyttämisen valitun alueen ulkopuolella; Kohdan AWS-tili on 19.8.2026 alkaen erikseen kytketty pois tuosta käytöstä, ja AWS poistaa myös sitä ennen kertyneet kehityskopiot. Seulonnasta jää Kohtaan merkintä siitä, milloin tarkistus tehtiin ja mikä sen tulos oli.

Säilytys ja poistaminen

Kuvia säilytetään niin kauan kuin pidät ne julkaistuina. Voit poistaa yksittäisen kuvan sen omalta sivulta ja koko tilisi sovelluksen asetuksista. Tilin poistaminen poistaa kuvasi, profiilisi ja tilitietosi. Alkuperäiset kuvaustiedostot poistuvat 30 vuorokaudessa riippumatta siitä, poistatko tiliäsi.

Yksi poikkeus: yksityisen Kutsun keskusteluun kirjoittamasi viestit jäävät luettaviksi myös tilin poistamisen jälkeen, mutta nimesi irrotetaan niistä. Keskustelu on yhteinen muille paikalla olleille, eikä yhden puheenvuoroja voi poistaa siitä rikkomatta muiden tallennetta. Poistamisen jälkeen viestin kohdalla lukee "poistettu käyttäjä", eikä sitä voi enää yhdistää sinuun. Yksittäisen viestin voit poistaa itse milloin tahansa.

Oikeutesi

EU:n tietosuoja-asetuksen mukaan sinulla on oikeus saada tietää, mitä tietoja sinusta on, oikaista virheelliset tiedot, saada tiedot poistetuksi, saada ne siirrettävässä muodossa ja vastustaa käsittelyä. Ikäraja

Kohta on tarkoitettu vähintään 13-vuotiaille. Sovellus sisältää käyttäjien julkaisemaa sisältöä ja käyttää sijaintia.

What Kohta collects and why

Account

You need an email address or Apple ID to sign in. If you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email address, Kohta receives only Apple's relay address. You also choose a username that appears with your photos. Adding a profile picture is optional.

App usage

Kohta stores a limited set of first-party product events in its own database, such as opening the app, starting a walk, publishing a photo, and completing a mission. An event is linked to your account and its time, but its schema cannot contain a location, caption, or other free-form content. Kohta uses these events to understand whether the product works and is used. It does not use third-party behavioural analytics or advertising identifiers.

Photos and captions

You take photos with Kohta's camera. A public Kohta also accepts a photo from your library. In that case, the photo's own location data places it where it was taken. Kohta stores the photo and any caption so they can be shown to the right people. A public photo appears on the map. A private Kutsu photo is visible only to its members. Photos added to a Kutsu are always taken with the camera.

Location

The app asks for your precise location while it is open. Kohta uses it to show nearby places and to attach a photo to the place where you are standing. The exact coordinates are stored but never shown to other users. They see only the Kohta that the photo belongs to. Kohta does not track your location in the background.

Camera data

Kohta stores the device model, lens, camera orientation and a limited set of technical EXIF fields. Location EXIF is removed from published image files. The original file produced by the camera is kept for 30 days for abuse investigations and then deleted. Only its SHA-256 fingerprint remains, and the photo cannot be recovered from it.

Motion and steps

If walking features are enabled, the app reads your step count only while it is open. Kohta does not collect it in the background.

Apple Watch

Kohta includes an Apple Watch app that points toward the nearest hint. The watch reads its location, compass heading and step count only while the app is open. It makes no network requests. The hint arrives from your iPhone as a device-to-device message, everything read by the watch stays on the watch, and nothing is sent from it to Kohta's servers.

Crash reports

If the app crashes, it sends a technical report to Sentry, operated by Functional Software, Inc. The report contains information about the error, device model and operating system. It does not contain your photos or location.

The website does not ask you for information

The kohta.space website has no form, waiting list, contact request or email field. The photographs on the site are the author's own. Other users' photos are not published there because the terms grant Kohta the right to show a photo in the app, not outside it. The cookieless visitor count is described next.

Website visitor count

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits to this website. It sets no cookies and does not identify you. The count records how often a page was opened, which page a visitor arrived from and roughly what kind of device was used. It cannot be used to trace an individual visitor, and it is not combined with app data. Cloudflare measures the website only; the app's limited first-party product events are described above.

Services used by Kohta

  • Supabase: accounts, photos, limited product events and the database. Servers are in Ireland, in the EU.
  • Mapbox: draws the map. Loading it tells Mapbox which map area you are viewing.
  • Sentry: receives crash reports.
  • Apple: distributes the app and provides Sign in with Apple.
  • Cloudflare: serves the website and provides its cookieless visitor count. It is not used in the app.
  • Amazon Web Services: automatically screens photos with Rekognition in Ireland. The account is separately opted out of allowing AWS to use the photos to improve its services.
  • Expo: delivers push notifications through servers in the United States. A notification may contain another user's username and the name of a Kohta. Expo does not store the notification text but does retain the device's push token.
  • Resend: sends sign-in emails. It sees your email address and the message, stores them for 30 days and processes them in the United States. The sign-in link in the message expires after one hour.

Every published photo goes through an automatic screening step intended to block clearly inappropriate material. Amazon Rekognition performs the check in Ireland, so the photo stays in the EU. AWS receives it only for this check and does not retain it. Choosing an EU region alone would not provide that protection: AWS terms allow data sent to AI services to be used for service improvement and stored outside the selected region by default. Kohta's AWS account has been opted out of that use since 19 August 2026, and AWS also deletes development copies collected before the opt-out. Kohta keeps the time and result of the screening.

Who can see what

  • Public Kohta: other users can see the photo, caption, username and time it was taken.
  • Private Kutsu: photos are visible only to its members. They do not appear on the map, on your profile, to outsiders or in search engines.
  • Hetki: only photos from public Kohtas can be added to a Hetki. You choose whether the Hetki is visible to members, members' friends or everyone on Kohta. The Hetki's visibility does not change the photos' visibility. A photo from a private Kutsu cannot be added to a Hetki.
  • Profile: shows only your public moments.
  • Tags: a tag on you becomes visible to others only after you accept it.
  • kohta.space: the site may show an individual public photo as an example only when the photographer has given permission.

Retention and deletion

Photos remain stored while you keep them published. You can delete a photo from its own page and delete your account in the app's settings. Deleting the account removes your photos, profile and account information. Original camera files are deleted after 30 days whether or not you delete the account.

Messages you wrote in a private Kutsu's conversation are one exception. They remain readable after your account is deleted, but your name is detached. The conversation is shared with the other people who were there, and removing one person's messages would break their record. The message is shown as written by a “deleted user” and can no longer be connected to you. You can delete an individual message yourself at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you may ask what data Kohta holds about you, correct inaccurate data, have data deleted, receive it in a portable form or object to processing. Send requests to tuki@kohta.space. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland.

Age limit

Kohta is intended for people aged 13 and over. The app contains user-published content and uses location.
