Kohta, Kutsu, and Hetki each have a clear role.

A Kohta is a public place. A Kutsu is a private place for your chosen people. A Hetki travels with you and turns the shared adventure into a story.

Create a public Kohta

Take the picture on location. If the place has no Kohta yet, create one. If it does, add your picture there. Every photograph finds its place on the map.

Share a private Kutsu

Create a Kutsu at a place you choose for a wedding, birthday, evening together, or another private gathering. Share the link with your people. Only members can see the photos, and every picture is taken on location.

Gather a shared Hetki

A Hetki turns an evening, trip, or any shared adventure into a story. Add photos as it unfolds or gather pictures you have already published.

Calm by design

Kohta is not trying to keep you on screen.

Kohta can be funded by place-based partner Kohtas and events, but commercial content must never interrupt the experience or push your friends aside.

  1. No endless recommendation feed or algorithmic ranking.

  2. No pop-up ads, advertising profiles, or sale of location data.

  3. Partner Kohtas and events are always clearly labelled on the map.

A second layer · Public Kohtas

Leave the place for others to discover.

When you want to share a find with everyone, publish it to a public Kohta. The picture joins the map and the place timeline, where others can discover it and add their own view. Kohta works wherever you are. The beta began in Helsinki, but the app is not limited to one city.
