A photo app for places and moments

Same place. Another moment.

Every photo attaches to the place where it was taken and stays there, waiting for the next time. Come back to the same shoreline a month later and see what it looked like then.

How Kohta works

The city remembers where you stood.

1

Add a moment to a place

Shoot with the camera right where you stand — or add a photo from your library that carries its own location. It attaches where it was really taken.

2

The photo stays in place

Every photo attaches to its Kohta — a place with its own timeline across seasons and years.

Come back and see

See what the same place looked like before, and the oldest photo in the archive is offered for rephotography. Then add your own moment to the sequence.

Your own Kohtas

Your evening stays yours.

Start a Kohta for the party: a birthday, a cabin weekend, a wedding, an evening on a trip. Place it anywhere on the map and invite your friends — everyone photographs the same evening from their own angle.

  • Invite by link or QR codeA private Kohta never appears on the map, to outsiders or in search engines. The only way in is an invitation.
  • One party, many anglesAn invite-only event is always shot in the moment, with the camera. Every member sees everyone’s photos — the whole evening gathers into one gallery by itself.
  • The afterglowWhen the evening is over, the event closes and the gallery becomes the arc of the night: a slideshow replays it in the order it was lived.
Map and timelines

Public Kohtas live on the map.

See what has been photographed near you, browse a place through the years, and add your photo to the sequence.

Public events

Festivals, block parties, markets. An open event is visible to people nearby, and everyone adds their moment to the same timeline.

Friends and tags

Add friends by username or straight from a photographer’s profile. A tag only becomes visible once the tagged person accepts it.

Kohta of the week

Every week one place or event steps forward — worth the walk, worth adding your moment.

Trips

Moments close in time and place fold into one story — a trip you can share with friends.

Real moments

A photo belongs to its place.

The public timeline is built from photos that were really taken there: with the camera, here and now — or from your library, when the photo carries its own location and it matches the place. That is why the timeline can be trusted.

A photo taken without a connection waits in your outbox and publishes itself when the network returns.

Privacy

Privacy is the structure, not a setting.

A photo’s exact location is never shown to anyone else — only the Kohta it belongs to.

Invite-only event photos live in their own protected storage, reachable only by a member of that event.

Your profile shows only your public moments. Event photos never appear there — not even to fellow members.

You can delete a single photo, or your entire account, from inside the app.

Kohta is in its invite phase.

The app is being tested on TestFlight with a small group before release. If you received an invite link, open it on your phone — it takes you straight to the right place.
